February 13th is coming up which means that it is time to tell my favorite story of the year. While some couple celebrate dates on Valentine’s Day, my grandfather will never fail to tell the story of February 13th, the Day of Agony

When my grandparents met, it was February 12th. My grandfather immediately asked out my grandmother out but the date was not until February 14th. My grandfather describes February 13th as the Day of Agony because he had to wait a whole 24 hours to see her.

Every year, a family email chain goes around reminding all of us to call our grandparents so my grandfather can tell the story of the Day of Agony while you can almost hear my grandmother rolling her eyes right next to him

This is pretty much the most adorable thing ever.

Reblogging my own story because I love my grandparents and today is the Day of Agony

awwwww!

I’m grateful for every new week that I get to spend with the woman I have loved my entire life.

I saw this man on the Metro this past Monday, and asked him who the flowers were for. They were for his wife. They’ve been married for 47 years. FORTY-SEVEN. Every Monday, he brings her home flowers after work. My heart died at that moment.

oh my god i can’t even.
